Dacia announces new Spring electric model with sub-18,000 euro price target

Dacia has announced that the second generation of its Spring electric city car will feature an entry price of less than 18,000 euros. Moving away from its previous production in China, the new generation will be manufactured in Europe using Renault’s small RGEV platform.

The updated Spring is designed for urban mobility, featuring a 27.5 kWh LFP battery and a 60 kW motor. The new model is slightly larger than its predecessor, increasing in length by 15 cm and width by 18 cm to provide more interior space.

While the sub-18,000 euro figure represents the starting price for the range, specific pricing and equipment levels for individual markets, such as Slovakia, have not yet been finalized. The vehicle aims to remain a highly accessible option in the green car market, targeting commuters who primarily charge at home.
