Daddy Yankee opens Peruvian restaurant Cholapink in New York

Reggaeton icon Daddy Yankee has partnered with Peruvian chef Jaime Pesaque to open Cholapink, a fast-casual restaurant located in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood. The establishment, situated at 32 Spring Street, focuses on Peruvian street food, featuring menu items such as anticuchos, ceviche, arroz chaufa, and pisco sour.

The concept was inspired by a trip to Peru taken by the singer and Pesaque. While initial investment proposals from British partners suggested a Mexican cuisine concept, Daddy Yankee advocated for Peruvian gastronomy, citing it as his personal favorite. The restaurant’s name and interior design draw inspiration from the vibrant fuchsia color of traditional Andean skirts (polleras).

Cholapink has a capacity for 60 diners and operates daily from 11:30 to 23:00. Chef Jaime Pesaque, who also leads the acclaimed restaurant Mayta in Lima, oversees the kitchen operations.
