Dae-sun Choi awarded Hongjo Order of Service Merit for AI privacy research

Dae-sun Choi, Dean of the AI College and Graduate School of AI at Soongsil University, has been awarded the Hongjo Order of Service Merit at the 6th Personal Information Protection Day ceremony.

Choi received the honor for his contributions to systematizing methods for diagnosing and mitigating artificial intelligence privacy threats. As the head of the Risk Management Subcommittee of the AI Privacy Public-Private Policy Council, he has worked to analyze complex risk factors in personal information processing.

The council, established by the Personal Information Protection Commission in February, involves 37 members from industry, academia, and legal sectors to design regulatory frameworks that balance AI benefits with potential risks.
