The Daegu Metropolitan Council has approved a supplementary budget of 406.5 billion won, increasing the city's total budget from 12.1988 trillion won to 12.6053 trillion won. The funds are designated for economic recovery, future growth industries, and citizen safety.

Key economic measures include 500 billion won in additional financial support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small business owners. This includes expanding management stability loans to 1.25 trillion won and implementing a new 250 billion won guarantee fee support program. To foster future industries, the city plans to establish a 'Future New Growth Fund' worth 1 trillion won by 2030 and will invest in an AI innovation hub in Suseong Alpha City to support robotics, mobility, and healthcare.

Regarding public welfare and safety, the budget allocates funds to strengthen the 'Daegu-style emergency medical safety net,' including the deployment of 5G ambulances and AI platforms for emergency medical institutions. Notably, the city will provide 4.3 billion won for infertility treatment support and will become the first major metropolitan city to completely abolish limits on the number of supported treatments, effective from the 30th of this month.
