Daegu City Council checks safety at WaggleWaggle I World facility

On 24 April, during its 327th interim session, the Daegu City Council Culture Welfare Committee revisited the WaggleWaggle I World complex in Dong‑gu to re‑examine child‑safety measures. The inspection focused on improvements to issues previously raised, such as uneven steps, steep slopes, and missing safety railings in the small theater and children’s library. Committee chair Lee Jae‑suk reiterated the council’s commitment, stating, “We will do our best to create a safe and happy growth environment so that children’s laughter can become everyday in Daegu.” The committee also received an operational report, toured the facility’s various spaces—including a kid‑café, library, and gym—and discussed further support to ensure a secure environment for children and parents.

The review follows the facility’s construction under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s regional revitalisation project, which invested ₩9.8 billion. The council’s continued oversight aims to verify that the safety upgrades have been fully implemented and that the venue can operate safely for the public.
