Daegu Council Chairman Im In-hwan Calls for Semiconductor Investment and AI Data Center Revival
Im In‑hwan was elected chairman of Daegu’s 10th city council and immediately urged the mayor, city officials and regional lawmakers to push for major semiconductor investment in the area, citing the recent announcement of Samsung and SK Hynix projects in the Honam region. He warned that the cancellation of the SK‑led AI data‑center plan in the Suseong Alpha City district had left a deep gap in local economic development and called for swift administrative action.
Mayor Chu Kyung‑ho attended the council’s opening ceremony, praised the new leadership, and pledged cooperation between the council and the city administration to deliver “change, growth and a better tomorrow” for Daegu residents.
