Daegu Dong-gu distributes Donggurureu emoticons to residents

The Dong-gu District Office in Daegu has launched a free distribution of its regional character, Donggurureu, via KakaoTalk. Starting October 30, the office is offering 16 types of animated emoticons to the first 30,000 residents who add the official Daegu Dong-gu District Office channel as a friend.

Inspired by the granite of Palgongsan Mountain, the character is used across social media, local festivals, and photo zones. The initiative aims to move beyond one-way administrative information delivery, fostering more natural, daily communication with residents and expanding the reach of the district's official online channels for sharing policy updates, lifestyle information, and local event news.

The distribution is scheduled to last for two weeks, though it may conclude early if the 30,000 limit is reached.
