Daegu Korea Gas Corporation Pegasus loses KBL opener

Daegu Korea Gas Corporation Pegasus lost their 2026-2027 KCC professional basketball regular season opener against the Goyang Sono Skygunners with a score of 73-82. Despite strong performances from Kevele Aluma and Ra Gun-ah, the team struggled in the fourth quarter after Aluma fouled out with 1 minute and 34 seconds remaining.

The team is scheduled to play its home opener on the 5th at the Daegu Indoor Gymnasium against Anyang Jung Kwan Jang. This home opener is expected to serve as a platform for cooperation between Daegu City and institutions within the Daegu Innovation City. Daegu Mayor Chu Kyung-ho and Korea Gas Corporation President Hong Ui-rak are set to attend the event to participate in a ceremonial first pitch.

Additionally, Daegu City has expressed interest in applying for a government project to build a multi-purpose sports and performance dome stadium in the Duryu Park area, which could potentially benefit the basketball team by providing a modern facility.
