Daegu real estate shows signs of recovery as apartment interest rises

The real estate market in Daegu is showing signs of potential recovery as interest grows in specific residential developments. On September 10, approximately 100 people gathered for the first-come, first-served contract period for the Dalseo Xi Jennique complex in Dalseo-gu. This follows a previous subscription period that saw low competition, with only 136 applications for 340 units. The high interest is attributed to competitive pricing, with 84㎡ units priced between 400 million and 500 million won.

Daegu's unsold housing inventory has been steadily decreasing from a peak of 13,000 units in February 2023 to 4,278 units as of July. Experts are divided on whether this represents a broad market rebound or a localized trend. While some suggest that decreasing prices and shrinking inventory are driving demand for affordable units, others caution that it remains to be seen if this will translate into a city-wide recovery.

Dalseo Xi Jennique, developed by GS Engineering & Construction, is a high-rise complex featuring up to 49 floors. The project is a post-sale development scheduled for occupancy in February 2027. The area is also seeing long queues for rental supplies at other nearby developments, such as Sangin Prugio Center Park.
