Daegu to host 2026 Future Strategy Forum on economic restructuring

The city of Daegu will host the ‘2026 Daegu Future Strategy Forum’ on the 30th at EXCO. Under the theme ‘Economic Restructuring: Opening a Better Daegu through Change and Growth,’ the forum aims to gather experts from industry, academia, research, and government to discuss the development of AI and semiconductor industries.

Mayor Chu Kyung-ho emphasized that the city’s economic restructuring initiative focuses on transforming the industrial structure to revitalize the region and improve economic vitality. The forum will feature a keynote speech by Professor Lee Jong-ho of Seoul National University regarding the AI transformation (AX) era. Sessions will also cover industrial structure transformation and the AI transition of manufacturing sectors such as machinery and metal.
