Daejeon City updates Boram Mileage service standards

Daejeon Metropolitan City has announced improvements to the operating standards of its Boram Mileage service, effective from the 19th. The program rewards citizens with mileage for daily activities such as walking, checking in, using public transportation, and visiting public facilities. These points can be converted into Ontong Cash to be used at local Ontong Daejeon merchants.

Key updates to the program include expanding the number of participants beyond the initial 100,000 target, simplifying the user interface for easier navigation, and easing the criteria for earning mileage. For example, the walking reward has been adjusted so that 100 points are awarded at 4,000 steps, with an additional 100 points provided at 8,000 steps. Daily attendance rewards have also been structured to provide bonus points for consecutive participation.

The city plans to expand participation categories to include policy surveys, festivals, blood donation, and civic campaigns. Daejeon will monitor monthly participation and budget execution to determine the long-term direction of the program by 2027.
