Daejeon expands virtual convergence content industry ecosystem
Daejeon City and the Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency (DICIA) are spearheading the expansion of the regional virtual convergence content industry ecosystem. Through the ‘2026 Virtual Convergence Content Production & Advancement Support Project,’ the initiative aims to foster excellent companies capable of leading the future physical AI era by supporting the development of content based on next-generation digital innovation technologies, including generative AI, XR (Extended Reality), and the metaverse.
The project focuses on the core specialized fields of ‘defense and science.’ Key developments include the creation of VR/XR-based training systems for Air Force operational communication equipment by Limoshot, and the development of an AI learning data preprocessing solution for military knowledge assets by GN Soft and SAT Information. Additionally, UtoBiz is developing an intelligent agent-based VR training platform for military satellite terminals, while Overlay and Surphase are working on mixed reality (MR) content for industrial robot path generation to be verified with ABB Robotics Korea. The project also includes advancements in VR-based cognitive rehabilitation platforms.
