Daejeon launches Youth Future Center to support at-risk youth
Daejeon City has officially opened the Daejeon Youth Future Center at Daejeon Station to provide specialized support for at-risk youth. The center is designed to identify and assist two specific groups: young people who face difficulties in education and employment due to family caregiving responsibilities, and those experiencing social isolation or withdrawal.
Operating through two dedicated teams, the center will provide initial counseling, case management, and customized recovery plans. For family caregivers, services include self-care allowances and connections to medical and welfare services. For isolated youth, the center will offer psychological support and social participation programs to help them reintegrate into society.
The establishment of the center follows the implementation of the ‘Act on Support for At-Risk Children and Youth, Including Family Caregivers’. Daejeon City plans to build a continuous discovery system for at-risk youth by strengthening cooperation with local districts, schools, hospitals, and social welfare institutions.
