Daejeon police crack down on unregistered restaurants in leisure facilities

Daejeon special judicial police have identified three unregistered restaurants operating within indoor leisure facilities, including screen golf and screen baseball centers. The crackdown was part of a planned investigation into food hygiene blind spots during the summer season, targeting major commercial areas such as Dunsan and Yuseong.

The investigated establishments were found to be preparing and selling food without proper business registration. Consequently, they failed to meet essential legal requirements, such as hygiene facility standards, regular health examinations, and mandatory food hygiene education, posing a significant risk of food poisoning.

The three businesses have been booked for violating the Food Sanitation Act. The police plan to complete their investigation and transfer the cases to the prosecution. Under the law, operating without registration can result in up to three years of imprisonment or a fine of up to 30 million won.
