Daejeon selects 2027 Hometown Love Fund projects

Daejeon City has selected six projects for its 2027 Hometown Love Fund, totaling approximately 679.5 million KRW. The selection follows a public preference vote conducted via the ‘Daejeon Siso’ citizen participation platform, ensuring the projects align with community needs.

The chosen initiatives focus heavily on supporting the future generation and alleviating economic burdens for young people. Key programs include providing subsidies for certification and language exam fees for unemployed youth, a youth policy development program, and an animal-interaction program for adolescents.

Additionally, the fund will address long-standing local issues and welfare gaps. Selected projects include transportation support for the Daejeon reserve forces training center, an AI-integrated fusion arts concert, and safety personnel support for the protection of the homeless. The projects are expected to be finalized in December following review by the Daejeon City Council.
