Daejeon to display 13m Kumdori and Kumsooni inflatable sculptures

Daejeon Metropolitan City, in collaboration with the Daejeon Tourism Organization, is launching a series of massive 13-meter inflatable sculptures featuring the city’s representative characters, Kumdori and Kumsooni. The exhibition aims to boost night tourism and city marketing by combining these familiar characters with Daejeon’s nighttime landscapes.

The sculptures will be displayed sequentially from August to November. The first installation will be located at Gapcheon Ecological Lake Park from August 20 to October 14, serving as a nighttime photo spot. Following this, the exhibition will move to the Hanbat Arboretum grass plaza from October 17 to November 20.

The city plans to link these displays with major local events, such as the Daejeon Bread Festival, the Daejeon International Wine EXPO, and the World Solar Summit, to encourage visitors to stay longer in the city. During the Bread Festival in mid-October, additional programs including drone shows, moon boat experiences, and themed photo zones will be available near the Expo Bridge.
