Daejeon to recruit 1,500 participants for youth savings program
Daejeon Metropolitan City is recruiting 1,500 new participants for its ‘Mirae Double Youth Account’ program for 2026. The initiative is designed to support asset formation for local young workers.
Under the program, participants save 150,000 KRW per month for two years. The city provides a matching contribution of an equal amount, allowing participants to receive a total of 7.2 million KRW plus interest upon maturity.
Eligible applicants must be born between January 1, 1986, and December 31, 2008, reside in Daejeon, and work or run a business within the city with a median income of 120% or less. The city has adjusted income criteria and eased requirements for business owners to improve accessibility and equity.
To prevent premature termination due to economic hardship, the city has simplified the process for pausing payments. Participants can now skip up to eight payments over a maximum of eight months without a separate approval process. Applications can be submitted online via the Daejeon Youth Portal from September 28 to October 8.
