Daewoo E&C and Jin Infra implement AI safety and translation systems in construction

Major South Korean construction entities are integrating artificial intelligence to enhance safety and communication on job sites. Daewoo E&C is accelerating its AI transformation (AX) by deploying real-time translation systems that support 16 languages, allowing managers to deliver safety instructions to foreign workers in their native tongues. The company has also introduced ‘SMARTy’, an integrated safety and health management system, and ‘Q-Box’, a quality management solution designed to reduce documentation time by over 90%.

Similarly, ICT specialist Jin Infra has completed the installation of the ‘JIN SAFETY’ AI video monitoring platform at the Shinan Insbill apartment construction site in Guri. This system utilizes high-magnification PTZ cameras on tower cranes and portable CCTVs to monitor both ground and underground levels. The AI analyzes footage to detect hazards, such as failure to wear protective gear, and sends instant alerts to managers. To address language barriers, the site also utilizes a real-time multilingual interpretation service providing subtitles in 12 languages during safety training sessions.
