Daewoo E&C appoints Lee Kang-seok as CEO to drive AI and robotics growth

Daewoo Engineering & Construction has appointed Lee Kang-seok as its new CEO. Following approval from shareholders and the board, Lee officially took office on October 5, 2026.

Lee has outlined a strategic vision centered on three pillars: “summit,” “together,” and “challenge.” The “summit” initiative focuses on stricter project selection and tighter management of safety, quality, costs, and schedules to bolster profitability. The “together” pillar aims to improve internal collaboration between headquarters, various divisions, and construction sites, while also respecting the role of labor unions.

Under the “challenge” pillar, the company intends to expand its international presence and diversify into new business sectors. Specifically, Daewoo E&C plans to establish AI infrastructure, data centers, and robotics as new operational growth engines. The company is also open to strategic mergers, acquisitions, and investments to support this expansion.

Following the announcement, NH Investment & Securities raised its target price for Daewoo E&C stock from 26,000 KRW to 30,000 KRW.
