Daewoo E&C secures 350 billion won fertilizer plant project in Nigeria
Daewoo E&C has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) to construct the fourth Indorama fertilizer plant in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. The project, valued at approximately 350 billion won, will be executed by Daewoo E&C as the main contractor for IF FZE, a Nigerian subsidiary of the global petrochemical group Indorama.
The new facility is designed to produce 2,300 tons of ammonia, 4,000 tons of urea, and 4,000 tons of urea crystals per day. This contract follows the successful completion of Indorama fertilizer plants 1 through 3, as well as associated feedstock reforming and power generation facilities.
Daewoo E&C attributed the win to its proven track record, noting that it completed key milestones for the third plant ahead of schedule in May. Since entering the Nigerian market in 1983, the company has completed 75 projects totaling approximately 10.8 billion dollars. The company plans to expand its presence in the LNG and petrochemical sectors across Nigeria, Mozambique, and Papua New Guinea.
