Daewoo E&C seeks energy infrastructure cooperation in Vietnam
Daewoo E&C Chairman Jung Won-ju met with Vietnam's Minister of Industry and Trade Le Minh Hung to discuss cooperation in energy infrastructure, specifically focusing on nuclear power and liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals.
During the meeting, which took place during the Vietnamese delegation's visit to South Korea, Daewoo E&C expressed its intention to move beyond simple construction contracts by pursuing localization. The company aims to contribute to Vietnam's energy security through technology sharing, workforce training, and the establishment of local supply chains.
Daewoo E&C highlighted its experience in the Czech Republic's Dukovany nuclear project and its recent completion of the Ulsan North Port LNG terminal in South Korea as evidence of its technical capabilities. The company intends to leverage its 30 years of business experience in Vietnam to expand its presence from urban development into large-scale energy infrastructure.
