Daewoong Pharmaceutical to host symposium on CGM-based diabetes management

Daewoong Pharmaceutical will host a web symposium on the 16th titled ‘Shift in Blood Glucose Management Paradigm’ via its medical information platform, Dr. Ville. The event aims to share the latest clinical trends in diabetes management using Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) technology with medical professionals.

The symposium features experts from South Korea and Japan. Professor Mototsugu Nagao from Tokyo Women's Medical University will discuss building new diabetes care models through CGM, drawing on Japan's experience where CGM use has expanded to include type 2 diabetes patients on insulin. Professor Min Se-hee from Seoul Asan Medical Hospital will cover FDA-recommended integrated CGM (iCGM) guidelines, focusing on device accuracy and clinical decision-making. Professor Choi Seong-hee from Bundang Seoul National University Hospital will moderate the discussion.

A central theme of the symposium is ‘behavior change.’ Rather than focusing solely on traditional metrics like HbA1c or Time in Range, the discussions will emphasize how patients can use continuous glucose data to inform daily lifestyle adjustments in diet, exercise, and medication adherence.
