DAF and Renault Trucks unveil electric trucks at European showcases

DAF presented an electric version of its historic 1996 XD Race Truck at the Truckstar Festival 2026. The vehicle, styled after the original race truck, was equipped with a milk tanker and assigned to 84‑year‑old Theo van der Mierden, founder of Van Der Mierden Transport, who will drive it for milk deliveries.

At the IAA Transportation fair in Hanover (15‑20 September 2026), Renault Trucks displayed new powertrain solutions, including the 2027 Renault Trucks T High with the DE13 R diesel engine and the electric Renault Trucks T E‑Tech 780, which offers up to 660 km range for long‑haul operations.
