Daffodil Software launches multilingual AI mascot for Aadhaar

Daffodil Software has developed Udai, an AI-powered conversational mascot designed to assist users with Aadhaar-related inquiries. The assistant was showcased at Aadhaar Samvaad 2026 in Kolkata, coinciding with the 17th Aadhaar Day.

Udai is capable of understanding and responding in 11 languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia, and English. The AI is designed to provide immediate answers to common questions regarding document requirements, update costs, and account linking, bypassing the need for users to navigate lengthy help pages.

To ensure cost-effectiveness and accessibility, the mascot utilizes lightweight processing that runs in a web browser rather than requiring expensive, specialized graphics hardware. The technology uses pre-filmed footage with real-time lip-syncing and expressive gestures to provide a smooth user experience.
