Argentina judge dismisses trafficking charges in Loan Peña case

In Argentina, Federal Judge Cristina Pozzer Penzo has dismissed human trafficking and abandonment of person charges against seven defendants in the investigation into the disappearance of five-year-old Loan Danilo Peña. The ruling follows conclusions from the Argentine Federal Police, which stated that the child was not a victim of a trafficking ring but was instead abducted. While the trafficking hypothesis has been discarded, the judge maintained that the abduction and concealment of the child are established facts. The primary investigation into the child's whereabouts remains active, and most of the dismissed individuals continue to face trial for the alleged abduction.

In Mexico, a 12-meter whale washed up dead on a beach in Tijuana. Authorities, including Profepa, are investigating the cause of death, noting that the animal may be a Bryde's whale. Local officials have announced plans to bury the carcass.
