Dafydd Jenkins returns to captain Exeter Chiefs

Dafydd Jenkins is set to captain the Exeter Chiefs in their Gallagher Premiership season opener against Gloucester. The Welsh international returns to the second row after a four-month absence following the 2025/26 Premiership final.

Jenkins' return provides a significant boost for director of rugby Rob Baxter, particularly as the team will be without regular second-row partner Andrea Zambonin, who is recovering from shoulder surgery. Jenkins will partner summer signing Harry Wilson in the lineup.

The match at Sandy Park also marks a milestone for Olly Woodburn, who will make his 200th appearance for the club.
