Dag Hammarskjöld Biography by Sara Causey Released

Award‑winning author and biographer Sara Causey has published a new book, "Simply Dag: The Private Man in a Public—and Dangerous—Office," about former United Nations Secretary‑General Dag Hammarskjöld. The work departs from traditional diplomatic biographies by focusing on Hammarskjöld’s personal life, character and inner motivations, drawing on his own writings and extensive research.

Causey says, "It's easy to catalog what Dag Hammarskjöld did," but she wanted to give him a voice and reveal the man behind the office. The book follows her earlier acclaimed biography "Decoding the Unicorn" and aims to humanise the Swedish diplomat known for expanding UN peacekeeping and receiving a posthumous Nobel Peace Prize.
