In regions such as Maharashtra and Goa, the festivities are highly organized. In Mumbai and Thane, major events are held in areas like Worli, Ghatkopar, and Lalbaug, featuring competitive pyramids, traditional music, and significant cash prizes. The practice is rooted in the folklore of Lord Krishna, symbolizing his childhood mischief of seeking out butter and curd.

While the pots traditionally contain dairy products like curd, butter, or milk, modern competitions often include cash rewards or gifts for the winning teams. The event serves as a communal celebration emphasizing cooperation, trust, and collective effort.
