Daiki Hashimoto wins fourth consecutive gymnastics world title

Japanese gymnast Daiki Hashimoto secured his fourth consecutive individual all-around world title at the World Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam. With a total score of 85.998, the 25-year-old became only the second man in history to achieve four successive titles, following Kohei Uchimura.

Hashimoto overcame a slow start on floor and rings by delivering high-scoring performances on the parallel bars (14.700) and the horizontal bar (14.766). His victory was aided by errors from key rivals, including Shinnosuke Oka, who finished eighth after struggles on vault and horizontal bar, and Arsenii Dukhno, who finished seventh following a fall.

The podium was completed by China’s Yang Haonan in second place and Great Britain’s Joe Fraser in third. Hashimoto’s performance marks a significant milestone as he continues his pursuit of excellence ahead of the Los Angeles Olympics.
