Daiki Hashioka avoids serious injury after Bundesliga debut collision

Borussia Mönchengladbach has released medical updates regarding Japanese defender Daiki Hashioka following a heavy collision during his Bundesliga debut against RB Leipzig on August 29. Hashioka was stretchered off the pitch after an aerial clash with Antonio Nusa in the 72nd minute.

Clinical examinations conducted at Leipzig University Hospital confirmed that Hashioka avoided serious cervical spine injury and showed no signs of neurological impairment. While he has been discharged and returned to Mönchengladbach, further follow-up examinations are scheduled for next week to monitor his progress.

Hashioka shared an update on social media, stating he is doing well and wearing a neck brace as a precaution. Although the risk of a long-term absence appears low, his availability for the upcoming match against Elversberg on September 5 remains uncertain.
