Daiki Shigeoka and Nanoka Hara hold birthday event for new film

Daiki Shigeoka of the idol group WEST. and actress Nanoka Hara attended a promotional event for the film ‘5-byo de Kanzen Hanzai o Seisei suru Hoho’ (How to Generate a Perfect Crime in 5 Seconds) at the International Professional University of Technology in Tokyo.

As both actors share a birthday on August 26, the event served as a joint birthday celebration. Appearing in yukata, the pair discussed their roles as siblings in the film, which explores the tension between human decisions and AI-generated solutions. Shigeoka noted his preparation involved intensive note-taking to analyze the divergence between human and AI logic, while Hara practiced using her left hand to better portray her character’s physical nuances.

A highlight of the event involved students using generative AI to create a real-time birthday video based on requests from the actors. The resulting video featured a Rio de Janeiro carnival theme with elements of the sea, birthday cakes, and large fireworks, which the actors praised for its entertainment value.
