Daikin Industries invests in LiLz for AI-driven factory inspections
Daikin Industries has invested in LiLz, an Okinawa-based startup, through a third-party allotment of shares as part of a Series B funding round. The partnership aims to develop factory solutions that integrate equipment inspection with operational improvements and energy-saving proposals.
LiLz provides AI and IoT-based tools, including the wireless ‘LiLz Cam’ series and an AI cloud service. These technologies enable remote inspections, automatic reading of analog meters, and anomaly detection. By combining LiLz’s hardware and AI capabilities with Daikin’s expertise, the companies intend to use inspection data to optimize air conditioning and heat source equipment operations.
As of May 2026, LiLz reported over 12,000 active units nationwide, with the technology capable of reducing inspection times by up to 70% or 237 minutes per day.
