Daily Capital launches Taiwan-Japan film co-production fund
Daily Capital, a new fund dedicated to Taiwan-Japan film and television co-productions, has launched at the Tokyo International Film Festival market, TIFFCOM. The fund aims to raise NT$100 million (approximately $3.1 million) to invest in at least five projects across film, television, and animation during its first two years.
Fundraising has currently reached 70% of the target, with operations expected to begin by the end of the year. The fund intends to pair Japanese intellectual property and production expertise with Taiwan’s co-production experience and flexible financing. In Japan, Daily Capital has established co-development partnerships with K2 Pictures and Remow.
The fund’s first announced investment is the 10-episode historical romance series “Love Ends in Bloom,” set in 1930s Chiayi and Alishan.
