Daily habits and regular checkups impact long-term health and finances

Maintaining healthy daily habits and undergoing regular medical checkups are essential for long-term physical well-being and financial stability. Common sedentary behaviors, such as sitting for extended periods during work or leisure, are linked by the World Health Organization to increased risks of cardiovascular disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes.

Additionally, insufficient sleep—defined as getting less than seven hours per night—is associated with obesity and depression. Addressing these lifestyle factors through regular movement and consistent sleep schedules can mitigate significant health risks.

From a financial perspective, routine health screenings serve as a strategy for managing household expenses. Early detection of illnesses allows for lifestyle adjustments or less intensive treatments before conditions worsen. A study by Prudential plc and Economist Impact titled ‘Suara Pasien Indonesia’ found that 9 out of 10 respondents have delayed medical treatment, often due to cost concerns or lack of information. However, delaying care can lead to higher costs for hospitalization, advanced medical procedures, and recovery.
