DAİMFED promotes green transformation and sustainability academy

The Eastern Mediterranean Construction Contractors Federations (DAİMFED) held a seminar titled ‘From Green Buildings to Green Transformation: LEED Certification Processes and Sustainability Academy Model’ to address the construction industry’s shift toward sustainability.

Prof. Dr. Tuğçe Demirdelen, representing Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University, provided technical insights on LEED certification, energy and water efficiency, sustainable material use, waste management, and carbon footprint integration. She emphasized that the goal is to build capacity for green transformation across the entire construction sector, noting that success depends on both technology and a trained workforce.

A key outcome of the seminar was the discussion of a proposed ‘Sustainability/Green Transformation Academy’ model. Prof. Dr. Murat Koç, a member of the DAİMFED Board, highlighted the necessity of cooperation between universities, industry, and the sector to develop the qualified human resources required for this transition.
