Daimiel celebrates agricultural heritage and honors Lola Ruiz de la Hermosa

During the VII Concentration of Vintage Tractors in Daimiel, Lola Ruiz de la Hermosa was honored as the ‘Agricultora Ejemplar 2026’ (Exemplary Farmer 2026). The award recognizes her career and commitment to the agricultural sector, specifically her role as the General Secretary of ASAJA Ciudad Real.

The event, organized by the Asociación Cultural Memoria Agrícola de Daimiel in collaboration with the local City Council, also focused on the historical and scientific importance of ‘el panizo de Daimiel’. A lecture by Leonor Peña from the CSIC detailed the significance of this crop to the municipality’s agricultural heritage and its current status as a subject of scientific research.

The celebration included a parade of vintage tractors and the participation of various officials, including Pedro Barato, the national president of ASAJA, and Mayor Leopoldo Sierra.
