Daimler Buses and Mercedes-Benz advance road safety technology

Daimler Buses and Mercedes-Benz Trucks are advancing road safety through new technological developments and educational initiatives. Daimler Buses has introduced the Active Brake Assist 6 Plus (ABA 6 Plus) and Attention Assist 2. The ABA 6 Plus is a radar-based system designed to detect potential collisions with vehicles, pedestrians, or cyclists. It can initiate automatic braking up to a full stop and provides warnings based on vehicle speed to help prevent accidents.

In conjunction with technological updates, Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Daimler Buses are supporting the “Deutschland blickt’s” initiative by Blicki e. V. This program uses Safety Trucks and Safety Coaches to conduct workshops and training sessions aimed at increasing road safety awareness among children and senior citizens across Germany. The initiative seeks to reduce traffic accidents involving vulnerable road users through education and practical demonstrations.
