Daimler India Commercial Vehicles to become global hub for Daimler Truck

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) is evolving into a versatile global hub for Daimler Truck, focusing on manufacturing, sourcing, engineering, and digital capabilities. Torsten Schmidt, Managing Director and CEO of DICV, noted that the company is positioning India as a stronghold for both domestic growth and global exports.

The commercial vehicle industry is currently undergoing five major shifts: increased demand for total cost of ownership and uptime, rapid digitalization, growth in aftermarket solutions, the emergence of new business models, and deeper localization of supply chains.

Looking toward 2030, India is expected to remain a primary growth market for commercial vehicles, driven by infrastructure development, logistics modernization, and economic growth. DICV aims to leverage India’s competitive strengths to create value for Daimler Truck on a global scale.
