Daimler Truck recalls 131,000 Mercedes-Benz trucks over fire risk

Daimler Truck is recalling more than 131,000 Mercedes‑Benz trucks worldwide after a defect was found in a battery‑chip seal. The flaw can allow moisture to reach the contacts, causing corrosion that may lead to a fire. The recall covers the Actros, Arocs and the electric E‑Actros models produced from March 2021 through October 2025.

In Germany alone, 27,084 trucks are affected. The remedy requires dealers to disconnect the chip during service. No personal injuries have been reported so far, but fleet operators are advised to schedule inspections promptly.
