Daimler Truck reports 8% rise in Q2 2026 sales to 86,707 vehicles

Daimler Truck sold a total of 86,707 commercial vehicles worldwide in the second quarter of 2026, representing an 8 % increase over the same period a year earlier. Mercedes‑Benz Trucks contributed 38,970 units, up 10 % year‑on‑year, while the North‑American truck division delivered 41,687 units, also an 8 % rise. Bus sales fell 13 % to 6,132 units.

Battery‑electric trucks and buses grew 21 % to 1,405 units in the quarter, and the first half of 2026 saw 2,147 electric vehicles delivered, a 23 % increase over the first half of 2025.

Despite the sales boost, Daimler Truck’s profit remained under pressure, with a 34 % drop in 2025 and an 80 % plunge in the first quarter of 2026. The group is pursuing a "Cost Down Europe" program aiming to cut €1 billion in operating costs by 2030, which will involve up to 5,000 job reductions in Germany. The sales figures reflect the integration of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation into the new ARCHION entity, effective from 1 April 2026.
