Dairy businesses close in Argentina and Spain

Two distinct dairy-related business closures have been reported in Argentina and Spain.

In Argentina, the dairy brand Luz Azul has closed its branch in Recoleta, located at Las Heras and Laprida, citing a consumption crisis. Despite offering factory-direct pricing, the business struggled with rising operational costs, including rent, personnel, and utilities. The company is redistributing its remaining stock to other branches in Buenos Aires and will auction off the store's furniture and equipment.

In Spain, the Aguas de Fontanales cheese shop in Moya, Gran Canaria, has ceased operations after nearly 70 years. Managed by Olga Lantigua Arenciba and José Luis Arencibia, the business was recently recognized for its quality, having won a gold medal at the Agrocanarias 2026 Official Cheese Contest. Local officials visited the site to honor the couple's long-standing contribution to the island's livestock and cheese-making traditions.
