Dairy factory fire in Odisha's Cuttack district

A fire broke out at a dairy factory in the Jagatpur Industrial Area of Cuttack district, Odisha, on Thursday morning. The blaze was reported around 7:40 am, originating in the facility's cooling or freezing unit.

Firefighting teams, including four fire tenders, worked for several hours to douse the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the premises. Officials reported that no injuries occurred because the facility was empty at the time of the incident.

Abani Swain, the Cuttack Deputy Range Fire Officer, stated that the fire has been extinguished. Preliminary investigations suggest an electrical short circuit in the freezing unit may have caused the blaze. A detailed investigation is planned to determine the exact cause and to verify if the factory was adhering to required safety norms.
