Dairy tournaments in Brazil promote livestock productivity

Regional dairy competitions in Brazil are highlighting advancements in livestock productivity and genetic improvement. In Caldas, Minas Gerais, the 10th Caldas Dairy Tournament celebrated a decade of stimulating the local dairy industry. The event, which now attracts over 100 producers, focuses on animal welfare, nutrition, and genetic selection to increase efficiency and income for rural properties.

In Marabá, the 5th Dairy Tournament concluded as part of the 38th Expoama. The competition evaluated animal performance through multiple milkings per day, featuring participants from Marabá, Abel Figueiredo, and Maranhão. High-performing animals recorded significant daily yields, with one cow producing approximately 108 kilograms of milk in a single day. The tournament awarded cash prizes to the top three finishers in each category.
