Daisy Indhira Montás Pimentel undergoes evaluation for Supreme Court

Daisy Indhira Montás Pimentel, a judge currently serving in the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeals of the National District, participated in public hearings before the National Council of the Magistracy (CNM) as a candidate for the Supreme Court of Justice.

During her evaluation, Montás Pimentel addressed the nature of procedural reforms, stating that they are not completed upon the enactment of a law but are built daily through their application in courts to address ambiguities and legal gaps. She emphasized that maintaining uniformity in applying procedural norms is essential for ensuring legal security for citizens and lawyers.

Regarding the application of a gender perspective in judicial processes, Montás Pimentel argued that it should not compromise judicial impartiality. She explained that the goal is not to favor one party over another, but to identify and level existing inequalities in power dynamics or access to justice and evidence. She noted that this perspective is not exclusive to female victims, as it can also apply to men in cases of domestic violence or harassment.
