Dajabón family seeks presidential aid for medical repatriation from Florida

A low-income family from the Los Miches community in Dajabón, Dominican Republic, is appealing to President Luis Abinader and Foreign Minister Víctor “Ito” Bisonó for assistance in repatriating a relative from the United States.

Sandino De La Rosa is currently in critical condition at the Wellington Regional Medical Center in Florida. According to medical reports, he has been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since September 13, where he is intubated and on mechanical ventilation. His prognosis is described as “unpredictable.”

Family members report that De La Rosa, who has lived abroad for over 20 years, suffered a fall at work followed by a stroke. The family lacks the financial resources required for medical transport and is requesting government intervention to facilitate his return to the Dominican Republic once his condition stabilizes and medical professionals authorize travel.
