Dajabón province sees tourism promotion and infrastructure demands
The province of Dajabón, Dominican Republic, is being highlighted as a cultural and ecotourism destination. The Ministry of Tourism organized a familiarization trip to promote the region's history, natural beauty, and unique gastronomy, which features a blend of traditional Dominican Creole and Japanese influences due to the local Japanese heritage celebrated during the Dajapón Fest.
Simultaneously, local residents in the municipality of Restauración, Dajabón, have expressed urgent infrastructure needs. During a visit by Minister José Ignacio Paliza, two citizens knelt before him to demand the construction of a road to improve mobility and connectivity for the border community. The residents emphasized that the lack of adequate road conditions significantly hinders daily activities and local transport.
