Dajia Zhenlan Temple launches online Zhongyuan Festival ritual services

As the Zhongyuan Festival approaches, Dajia Zhenlan Temple has launched an online registration service through its “Zhenlan Maibu” shopping mall. The service allows believers and businesses to arrange complete ritual offerings and ceremonies remotely. Participants can opt for additional services, such as the burning of specific traditional papers, and can choose to donate surplus offerings to charitable organizations.

To encourage participation, the temple is holding a lucky draw for those who register online before August 27, featuring prizes such as iPhones and iPads. The temple's ritual period runs from August 22 to August 27, with the main offerings presented at the temple site on the day of the festival.

In conjunction with the festival, traditional customs and taboos are being highlighted. Experts suggest following specific guidelines for the ritual, such as performing ceremonies outdoors in the afternoon, avoiding the use of full black clothing, and refraining from shouting names or addresses to maintain respect for the spirits.
