Dak Lak ancient trees recognized as Vietnam Heritage Trees

The Vietnam Association for Protection of Nature and Environment has officially recognized several ancient trees in Dak Lak as Vietnam Heritage Trees. These include a Cong tree (Sui tree) in Van Hoa village and three Dâu da đất trees (Red trees) located in Luong Son village.

The recognized Red trees vary in age, including one approximately 210 years old, one approximately 200 years old, and one approximately 100 years old. These trees are noted for their large trunks and wide canopies, having been preserved by local families through multiple generations for shade and fruit.

The Cong tree, aged over 300 years, features a trunk diameter of approximately 1.2 meters and a circumference of 11 meters. Beyond its biological value, the tree holds cultural significance, linked to the history of local settlement and community spiritual life.
