Dak Lak authorities isolate rabies outbreak after dog bites four people

Authorities in Thanh Nhat Ward, Dak Lak province, have implemented emergency measures to isolate and monitor a rabies outbreak after a dog bit four people. The victims, including family members and neighbors, were bitten between September 21 and 22.

All four individuals received medical treatment, including rabies vaccines and rabies immunoglobulin (SAR), following established post-exposure prophylaxis protocols. The dog involved died on September 25, and subsequent testing confirmed it was positive for the rabies virus on September 26.
