Dak Lak: Illegal residential area built on forest land

An unauthorized residential area has been identified on forest land in Phu Hoa Ward, Hoa Hiep Ward, Dak Lak province. Located approximately 3km from the Hoa Hiep Ward People's Committee headquarters, the site features completed houses, ongoing construction projects, and a permanent concrete road leading into the area.

Investigations revealed that several plots of land have been leveled and renovated. Residents occupying the area reported purchasing land from local individuals and building homes because they observed others doing the same, despite a lack of legal documentation.

Local authorities have faced scrutiny regarding their response time. Following inquiries from reporters, the Hoa Hiep Ward People's Committee requested specific questions for staff inspection. A formal response from the ward's Department of Economy, Infrastructure, and Urban Affairs was provided nearly three months after the initial investigation began.
